[Excellent physical and mechanical properties]

The specific gravity of FRP pipe material is usually 1.8-2.1g/cm', which is about 1/4-1/5 of steel, which is higher than steel, cast iron and plastic.

The weight of glass steel pipe is generally not more than 1/3 of that of steel pipe of the same specification, with excellent physical and mechanical properties. In addition, some physical properties of glass steel pipe are also quite superior, the thermal expansion coefficient is roughly equivalent to that of steel, and the thermal conductivity coefficient is only 0.5 of that of steel, which is a good thermal and electrical insulation.

[Large design flexibility, short modification cycle]

Glass steel pipe is impregnated with resin matrix fiber reinforced material, according to the specific process conditions layer by layer wound to the core mold and appropriate curing and formed, the tube wall is a kind of layered structure, by changing the resin system or the use of different reinforced materials to adjust the physical and chemical properties of glass steel pipe, in order to adapt to different media and working conditions made of different pressure levels or with a special performance of glass pipe. The modification cycle is short, which is a significant feature of fiber winding composites and cannot be compared with various metal pipes of the same sex.

[Low cost of installation and maintenance]

FRP pipe does not need special anti-corrosion treatment, the insulation layer can be thinned, or even do not do insulation treatment, the pipeline is relatively light, the tonnage of hoisting equipment is small, the power consumption is less, the length of FRP pipe is longer than cast iron and cement pipe, the joint is relatively reduced, these will reduce the installation and maintenance costs, which has been proved by many engineering practices at home and abroad.
